october update

It's been one of those months. Head's up my arse. Trying to get stuff done but it's not moving like I'd want it to, surelookit, it happens.

DCAF

I did DCAF's October show at the beginning of this month!

Again, I'm still very new to tabling so my main goal is that I at least cover the table + printing costs, which I did! Yippee!!

Keep in Box sold out! I like tabling, it's great to meet people in the scene and I do love chatting to all sorts... I hope in the new year to start doing more Irish cons. I'm taking it slow because you do see people overestimate and I never want to have that much physical goods on my hands. This time, I did have the new experience of people acting out my entire nsfw comic in front of me. They did buy it, but you do see all sorts when you're tabling. I do feed off that awkwardness. I kinda love it.

I got into DCAF's November show. If you're in Dublin city on the 30th, pop on in. I'm gonna see if I can knock out a comic I've been sitting on... Here's a sneak peak...

It's based on a few Irish myths. You can probably guess which ones.

I was pleasantly surprised when Dúbh Féng Studio approached me for a comic trade! Handy, as I was eyeing their beautiful riso-printed comic: I Kissed Her on A Pegasus. Such a sweet and cute little love story. Thanks again! They got my green-and-pink Second Shift in return! It's a very popular colour palette for yuri now... Are we trendsetters?

I'm always thankful other artists come by and we get to trade ;w; Ireland's got such a selection of amazing artists. Speaking of...

Bitta good news

The artist income scheme was made permanent in Ireland! It was looking a bit rough for a minute there. It's great, I know a few people who've gotten onto the scheme and they've nothing but praise for it. I'm really happy the Gov here decided it was worth it to support all the fantastic home-grown artists here. There's so many skilled and hardworking people who've been fucked over for far too long. It's good to have good news, isn't it.

I'm aiming to apply for it next year! :>

In other good news... guess who's finally employed again ^w^ It's Christmas work, but this whole year has been a difficult one so I'm really happy to feel back on my feet and have some level control again. It can only get better!! I actually had a very freeing conversation with a friend about the subject of the animation industry. You won't read this Nico, but thanks for listening, you're a star.

You can't really talk about it with people in the industry, because they assume that you're just not trying hard enough to get work or you're a fool who won't move counties to work a 3 week job (yes the contracts have gotten that bad). I'm used to having no cash and making it work, but having a hard life reset at 30 and navigating friends who... maybe... are not so tactful... It's a new ball game and I don't wish those I can't afford this conversations on anyone.

Webdev

I know I said no more big site updates... But I made a hundred line fansite! It's got a fanlisting page, and an in-progress essay page. Please check it out ;w;

I think a lot of webdevs do this lol but I'm pretty sure I'm my site's number-one visitor! I just love looking at it! Look!! It always scratches the same itch animation does, how quickly you can make something, how alive something can feel...

In my searches, I found the hundred line hub, another hndr line fansite for keeping track of fanevents and other helpful links. There's a lot more sites with hndr line works then I thought!

Looking forward

If you're looking for another gamejam; there's the upcoming doll & kigu one in the works. I'm hoping I have a little bit of free time... We must start the kigu uprising...
