Jan update

How is it already the end of January?!?!? We're fully into 2026 now, and it still feels weird to type...

Megacon + Ireland ramblings...

I headed up to Megacon on the 17th, and it was RAMMERS lol I got to have quick chats with a lot of my friends I don't get to see very often.

The teen weebs are loved... Me and friends reminisced when you'd be bullied and called a pervert for this! Times have well and truly changed in Ireland... The teens have money and they want anime! I think I said before, but I'm always so shocked at how many BABIES in BUGGIES are at cons! None of these families are having fun lol

Fair play to artists who do this full time, it's not for the faint of heart. I can only last 2 hours before I'm done and want to go home... I will try to apply to more cons though, but I'm not really into prints or badges myself LOL comics are not really a good idea if you're looking to profit. But I am a simple creature who wishes to share her art...

DCAF

THEY SHUT DOWN THE COMPLEX...

It's a large artist space in north dublin... which had gotten praise from our politicians but sadly their lease came to a close and they were unable to secure the funded from the council. This is very typical in Ireland. Here's this great thing. You need funding? Oh that's not my job, it's theirs. No that's not my job, no that's not my job... IT'S MADDENING

I am a true blue Dubliner. All my life I've only seen places shut down.

I love DCAF and I'll always continue to support it. Ireland doesn't have any other kind of event like it. I want there to be these places to meet others!! At a low cost!!! ARGH!!

When I go to get my bits at the shops I feel like I'm going mad. I've always been frugal but I really feel shops are taking the piss now. All I hear is the supply chains are driving up costs and did you hear? This was the most profitable year for Tesco. THIS IS WHAT YOU COMPLAIN ABOUT AS A 30 YR OLD. THE PRICE OF A PINT.

Art

I HOPE I HAVE ONE COMIC FINISHED THIS MONTH...(i write these blogs throughout the month lol) Hirutaku.. My time traveling, cursed hets...!! Hndr line has my soul... It's so amazing seeing all the dangan fanartists back TwT I'm also working on a YuguTaku one... I have to make the food so people will come to my table...

I have a vn and a comic to do... I think Feb I will take off and plan/write trophies...(you keep saying this) I KNOWWW but sometimes. things. take time. and you have to learn to deal with both the ideas you can bang out in a week and the ones that take years to figure tf out.

Shop

I opened a physical (big cartel) shop! Eeek! I'm only keeping it up till the 5th of Feb, a small test run to see if I like it. I'm trying my best to put myself out there and try something different! I don't know if I'll do it again? But it is nice to do something that's different to your eveyday...

Animation

I have found peace on this Earth once more. I am animating again. I can finally look at every written instance of calling myself an animator and not feel like a fraud LOL I am attempting a career change... It's nice to have the work again, I do love it... I think it is my calling... but there's different things I want from my life now.

If you take a passing interest in the film/game/entertainment industry at the mo, you know how crazy it is. I was talking to my brother-in-law over the holidays, and he knew all about the Paramount buyout! I don't know what the future of animation will be... not the mainstream, anyway.

I hope to take part in the Fansite Jam ran by Critical Distance. I've been missing out on soooo many cool jams lately bc of timing. But that is life... I hope to make either Super Danganronpa 2 or Fate/Stay Night... or another code: two memories... It MIGHT be F/SN....
